Ferrum has taken the Anti-Bullying Pledge
We are taking extra measures to scratch out bullying in our school. Below you will read the PURR Pledge and how our students and staff are expected to respond. PANTHERS PURR PLEDGE I agree to scratch out bullying and all forms of violence. I believe everyone should be able to enjoy our school equally, feel safe, secure, and accepted regardless of color, race, gender, popularity, athletic ability, intelligence, religion, or nationality. Bullying can be pushing, shoving, hitting, and spitting, as well as name calling, picking on, making fun of, laughing at, and excluding someone. Bullying causes pain and stress to victims and is never justified or excusable as kids being kids, just teasing, or anything else. The victim is never responsible for being a target of bullying.
By signing this pledge I agree to: P-Prevent bullying by supporting students who have been bullied and by not being a bully myself. U-Understand what bullying is and what to do about it. R-Respond to bullying. R-Report bullying to an adult at school and an adult at home.
PANTHERS PURR!!! We will not bully others. We will prevent and understand bullying. We will try to help students who are bullied. We will include students who are easily left out.
